Robert Martin

Mr. Robert Martin, age 93, of Spring Hill, Arkansas passed away Tuesday, February 5, 2019. Mr. Martin was born in Spring Hill, Arkansas on October 31, 1925 to John W. and Cora Huckabee Martin. He was a member of Bethany Baptist Church in Spring Hill where he served as Sunday School Superintendent for many years. He was a United States Army veteran, serving during World War II. He received three Purple Hearts, Bronze Star, Prisoner of war Medal and fought during the Battle of the Bulge. Robert loved to support his Spring Hill Bears in all sports. He was also known as the community historian on everyone that lived in Spring Hill, loving to share stories with everyone who would listen. He is preceded in death by his parents, brothers; Monroe, Marvin, Erbin, Earnest, Clyde, Lynn, Leo, Roy, Ray, Neil, sisters; Wilma, Ola, Orene, Grace and Helen.
Survivors include; wife of 67 years Mary Martin, one son, Todd Martin, wife Wendy, one daughter, Robin Martin Applegate all of Spring Hill, three grandchildren, Kolby Neely, wife Megan, Hays Martin, Gracy Martin and numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and a community full of friends.
Family visitation will be 1:00pm to 2:00pm Friday February 8, 2019 at Bethany Baptist Church Spring Hill.
In lieu of flowers memorial contribution may be made to Huckabee Cemetery fund c/o Todd Martin 3174 Hwy 174 South Hope, Arkansas 71801.
Funeral services will be 2:00pm on Friday February 8, 2109, at Bethany Baptist Church Spring Hill, with Bro. Eric Fisher officiating. Burial will follow in Huckabee Cemetery Spring Hill with military honors. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of BRAZZEL/Oakcrest The Funeral Home of Hope, Eddie Brazzel Director.
