The Joint Committee on Public Retirement & Social Security Programs will hold a meeting Thursday, September 5, 2019 at Hempstead Hall. The meeting will begin at 1:30 p.m and the public is invited to attend. This will be the first of 11 meetings to take place across Arkansas to review rule changes being considered by the Statewide Public Retirement Systems.
Discussions will include information about the following Retired State Employees:
Arkansas Public Employees Retirement System (APERS), Arkansas State Police Retirement System (ASPRS), and Arkansas Judicial Retirement System (AJRS)
Arkansas Teacher Retirement System (ATRS)
Local Police and Fire Retirement System (LOPFI) and Fire and Police Pension Review Board (PRB)
Arkansas State Highway Employees Retirement System (ASHERS)
Representative Danny Watson is especially pleased that the meeting will be held at Hempstead Hall here in Hope, “I had requested, if at all possible, to have a meeting down our way on retirements since I had a divulge of questions from my area during the session. I’m very proud they did choose District 3 and as the very first meeting right out of the blocks!” Watson said.
A panel discussion and opportunity for public comments will take place following the presentations.
