Bobby Martin

Mr. Bobby Martin, age 84 of Hope, Arkansas passed away Friday, January 22, 2021. Mr. Martin was born March 18, 1936 in Springhill, Arkansas to Clyde Gibson and Lillie Mae Yocom Martin. He was a retired fireman from Hope Fire Department and Hope Water & Light employee. He served in the Army National Guard 1960-1977, and was a member and former deacon of the First Presbyterian Church in Hope. Bobby Martin was an inspiration to all that had the privilege of working with him, growing up with him, and to the special members of his family. He was a man of integrity, and he extended a helping hand when needed and provided guidance to his family, always. We were so blessed to have called him Dad and Grandpa.  He enjoyed all aspects of life; hunting and fishing with his grandsons and daughters were always in his plans. He also enjoyed his time spent with his brothers and longtime buddies A.C. Sinyard and Rusty Davis. He always looked forward to hearing from his sister, Sue. He valued so many friendships made through his firefighting career and his Hope Water and Light career.

He is preceded in death by his parents and his brother Jerry Martin.

He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Joyce Ferrand Martin, of Hope; three daughters, Kathy Martin (Rusty) of Patmos, Dana Black (Andrew) of Wake Village, Kimberly Murphy of Ashdown; brother, Jimmy Martin (Bobbye) of Springhill, Arkansas; his sister Connie Sue McIntosh (Larry) of Great Bend, Kansas; sister-in-law Candy Martin; three grandchildren, David Cummings (Amanda), Kyle Applegate (Jordan), Nathan Collums (Lauren); five great grandchildren, Carly, Zoie, Kaden, Daniel, Abigail. Numerous nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to: First Presbyterian Church, PO Box 760, Hope, AR 71802.

Visitation will be 5:00 to 7:00 P.M. Tuesday, January 26, 2021 at BRAZZEL/Oakcrest Chapel.
